New Website - and finally viewable on mobile devices!

With no longer being able to do Portrait sessions, it was time to take down that part of my website (that hurt a wee bit, at this time of year I'd be busy booking spring and summer sessions - I miss photographing my lovely families more than I can express).
I thought why not refresh the site while I'm at it? And how about adding HTML so that everyone can view it from mobile devices?
The HTML runs a little slower than the Flash site - but hang in there - it does come up!
I hope you enjoy the selection of images I've posted, I'll switch it up from time to time. Each image has a story to it and brings back a warm memory about how I was feeling when I took the shot (except for the ones taken in deep winter - I remember frozen toes and fingers in a determined effort to get the right angle!)
A few friends have asked me if I'd be willing to help out newer photographers with questions they may have, critiquing images etc. - and I'd be more than happy to - it'll help keep me out of trouble! I always enjoy seeing other photographers' work and talking exposures, lenses, Photoshop...
The best way to reach me is by email at sandy@theintrepidlens.com
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Items for Sale - Trying to Make this Easier!

Keeping both this blog and the Kijiji ad up to date is proving to be a bit of a challenge, so I'm going with the Kijiji ad at http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-cameras-camcorders-Photography-Items-for-Sale-new-items-added-daily-W0QQAdIdZ365035904

This morning I've been updating it by the hour with new items and deleting sold items so please check in frequently if you're interested in any of my inventory.

A busy weekend ahead! Hope you're all having a good one.

Time to Hang Up My Hat

As you may already know, poor health has led me to shuttering my photography business. You can read more about this very difficult decision by clicking on this link.

http://myemail.constantcontact.com/October-2011---Time-to-Hang-Up-My-Hat.html?soid=1102135376353&aid=YX1NYwLAdjo

I have a rather large inventory of photography equipment, display equipment, business supplies available for sale - or free to a good home in some cases :-)

An email was sent out to interested individuals yesterday listing just a small amount of my inventory. Rather than bombard with frequent emails - I'm going to use this blog as a place to visit if you're interested in anything I may have on offer. I'll update it frequently as I come across items (I'm moving a little slowly these days), or as items are sold.

Here are a few items, more coming every few days. Please note that all items must be picked up from me in north east Burlington, I'm often not well enough to get to the post office to ship items out. Payment is by cash or PayPal (for purchases over $100). If you have questions about any items, please don't hesitate to email me at sandy@theintrepidlens.com.

Regards,
Sandy

May Newsletter - New "Gorgeous Me!" Sessions

A few weeks late on the May issue, but I was working on a new portrait session concept and had to get a few ducks in order.

New "Gorgeous Me!" sessions are just for women (and at this time are only available to past clients, or someone that is referred by a past client in Burlington and Oakville) - capturing you at your relaxed best in your own home. Hair styling and make-up application are included, go as natural or as glam as you like with both your make-up and your wardrobe!

It's also that time of year for Grad Photos; and these are not those staid, cookie-cutter grad photos that the school arranges! With my Grad packages, I'll be capturing the personality of my subject as we hang out for a few hours in an a location that says much more about them than the photos that are sent home from school (and these packages aren't just for grads in case you're looking for a unique gift to reward your tween/teen for their great work this school year). The attached photos were taken last week in one of my favourite locations for those wanting an urban setting.

Last bit of news in the May newsletter issue is a sale just in time for Father's Day on Photo Keychains and Cufflinks.

If you'd like to have the monthly email newsletter sent directly to your Inbox, just sign up either by clicking on the Newsletter button to the right on this page (or email me at sandy@theintrepidlens.com if your browser isn't displaying the link).

Happy Victoria Day weekend everyone!
